a brief statement about my

photography

I work almost exclusively with medium format and 4x5 large format film. While I primarily favor black and white, I do also work in color. I process the film myself at home, and in 2025 I set up a darkroom to begin printing. My work has been featured in exhibitions by Texas Wesleyan University and the Dallas Center for Photography. In the last few years, I've had the opportunity to photograph the Grammy-Winner David Russell, Hamilton de Holanda, Gabriel Bianco, Rene Izquierdo, Manuel Barrueco, Hao Yang, Ziggy and Miles Johnston, Łukasz Kuropaczewski, and Marko Topchii. I have been invited to photograph inside and backstage at the Winspear Opera House in Dallas, and I look forward to building my music portfolio at every opportunity. In addition to my musical work, I am very interested in other genres of photography. I am curating a portfolio called 'Songs Without Words', which features overtly musical work and seemingly non-musical work which capture some element of music. Harmony and proportion are common to music and photography, and a photo may have have a sense of rhythm, lyricism, and perhaps timbre. I think it is endlessly interesting to look at something I typically listen to, and to 'hear' something which is primarily visual.  I have been awarded grants to produce a photobook, an EP, and a solo exhibition for this project, so I owe a debt of gratitude to the Greater Denton Arts Council and the City of Lewisville, TX.  Prints are available.
